WellerU
Our Journey is Underway
The Product
Inaction is a treatable condition. Sometimes the steps necessary to seek care are unfamiliar or challenging to people based upon their race, ethnicity, cultural background, educational opportunities or lack of familiarity with the healthcare system.

WellerU uses a principle called Contingency Management(CM) from behavioral economics. CM has already proven successful in promoting treatment adherence for conditions such as Substance Abuse Disorder or Obesity.

CM is based on the principle of repetitive operant conditioning, which associates actions with immediate rewards. We have developed an Incentive Solution delivered through a mobile device which breaks the care journey into small, discrete steps. Completion of these steps is associated with initially small but increasing rewards.
Next step: Formal Feasibility Study
WellerU is collaborating with Western Michigan University and Verne Health to design and implement a feasibility study of our unique preventive healthcare incentive.

We are seeking Seed round funding from the National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion through the Small Business Innovation Research program.

We are also reaching out to Medicaid providers and Federally Qualified Health Centers to gauge interest in participating in our study.
